EVDO NETWORK IS DOWN
I just got off the phone with Alltel tech. support and was told that their entire EVDO Axcess Broadband network was DOWN. I was told that it happened sometime this morning. Estimated up time was hopefully before the end of today! I've got approximately 8 to 9 cards in use at my company, and I can tell you those people are none too happy. Anyway, just wanted to try to spread the word. Alltel tech. support told me he was seeing network outages across multiple states! I'm in Twinsburg, OH - confirmed, down, no EVDO network coverage. Let me know if you're experiencing problems where you're at. |

If anyone on Alltell has service OR doesn't have service, report your city and zip code, date and time to this thread.
That will help others determine how widespread the problem is AND also, when the problem has been resolved. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I'm on Alltel in Kingsland, Ga. zip code 31548 and have not experienced any outages today. Sorry I just noticed this post. I just did a speed test at speakeasy.com/speedtest:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 1179 kbps (147.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 47 kbps (5.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
This pretty normal speeds for this area. |

| Thanks for the info. I just confirmed that we're back up here in northeast Ohio. Guess maybe it wasn't as widespread as I was led to believe. |

I'm just surprised from my own experience, that you were able to find an Alltel "tech" who has even heard of EVDO. I avoid calling them every chance I get!
Why is it that every time I need to call for service I have to know more about their business than they do so I can tell them what they need to do?
I guess it actually saves money for the cell companies though. They let their customers train their service techs. Pretty cool business model. Only works though in an industry where we all sign contracts to be abused by the people we pay thousands of dollars annually.
ALl right site admins . . . . I'm through ranting. |

| If this happens again, there is a way to roam on Sprint EVDO. Details are on pcsintel.com. |
