700p as modem with Verizon Wireless

I'm using PDANet on my 700p with Verizon with a fair amount of success. Tried it in Boston (my home area) and could only connect via Proxy Mode (I am not paying Verizon the $15/month for tethering) -- the dialup mode wouldn't work (got some kind of login error). Proxy Mode worked OK but I got disconnected now and then.

Just tried it in the Cleveland area and was able to make a dialup connection (no login error -- hooray!) and this connection seems to be much more reliable (I'm using it right now).

We'll see if Verizon gets upset with me... hey, I'm paying for unlimited data, so I'm gonna use unlimited data! Smile

Any idea why it would work in one region and not in another?
