MY Kyocera KPC650 will only use the slower 1x signal coming from a Verizon tower next to my house. In an attempt to Lock EVDO I have finally guessed the Ctrl D password its 000000 (6 zeros). It does not have a setting to lock EVDO, but does let you use your own PRL file. Is it possible to edit out all Verizon Towers or even the tower next to my house in a PRL file then upload it? Where would one get a PRL file to try?
Also CTRL T brings up a Terminal window, can AT commands lock EVDO? |

THANK YOU! I've missed having that level of access since my Sierra 555. Nice find. |

The SID was set wrong. I set the SID to Alltel (was set to Verizon in area)
and now I connect to Altel tower just barely (20%) even with the trucker antenna. Oh well, I guess its time for an amp, mount the antenna high outside etc... For now, I set the SID back to Verizon and I get 100% 1xRtt with no antenna. Its good to have the choice with an Alltel card between the 3 carriers's systems. Thanks for the password. |
