Hello,
I just posted a story and link to a web site that offers information on tweaking the Windows Registry for optimum TCP performance. Much of this can be applied to our EVDO connections. In fact, there is a download that automatically applies the settings for you.
If anyone has previously done these settings, or has additional info, please post it here for all to see.

That's a good site, there's a tool called DrTCP available there which give you a graphical interface to manually adjust RWIN numbers.
I've been experimenting with it and this is what I got today with a 128480 setting.
You have to be careful if you exceed 65XXX to make sure you have windows scaling turned on. The V620 software automatically does that. I have set it as high as 513XXX but the 128480 setting seems best for my set up.
All these figures are without using Venturi. |

| Interesting to know what the benchmarks were before you changed any settings. |

The major difference is between the 5220 and the V620. I never got over 500 or so with the 5220 and 800-900 seems to be about average for the V620. There hasn't been a 10% variation in any of the combos I've tried.
I think the 5220 would have been a lot faster for me had I known how to alter the RWIN when I had it. It was set at 17,500 and I never changed it. The SW for the V620 set the RWIN at 62480 out of the box and I'm convinced that the big difference. |

Thanks Michael & Richard,
This is GREAT information.
I have a PC 5220 card and will be traveling at the end of the week and do some tweaking and testing and report the results here. |
