I have a laptop from work - that has 2003 Standard Server installed - looking to buy the embedded EVDO card - but Dell wont support it because 2003 server is not a supported OS for the Latitude.

Question is - will it work? Is dell just not supporting it - or is there a real compatibility issue with the hardware and/or drivers.

Thanks,

Aaron

I seem to be having conversations with myself...

solved my problem - somewhat...

Installed an XP partition on the laptop - installed the dell app - and activated the card

Now I can boot 2003 and connect the the card using the conenct to... connection that was placed there by the verizon app (and my old card) - since the old card is not in - but the new card is - it is set up for the new card and it works

just don't have any of the utilities (but I can always boot into xp if i need them) -

anyone know if dell/novatel has plans to support 2003 ?

I think I know what caused my problem - my 3g connection is gone. I can't remember how it was created - now all I have is my standard version national access connection. I think it was some installation for the drivers for the 5700 - anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hey aykornb,

I know it's been a while since you've been on this thread, but it seems that it is still the only thread out there about it! I've googled and googled and this is the very 1st and only info about this. I also have the Latitude D620 with Windows2003 server and the 5700 Dell internal broadband and cannot get it to install (same with the sound card). I get the same error with the 'pheonix' com. You had indicated that you got it to work at one point, and/or that they had release a new driver that worked. Can you please direct me to where you found that or how you got it to work... you are the only hope for this out there!

Thanks,

Joel
