12 dBi with more directivity in elevation than in azimuth is about what tower sector antennas use (which have ~120 deg. azimuth beamwidth). I think that Cushcraft made some that showed up surplus but I've not seen anyone selling them lately.
Cushcraft also made some square patch antennas of about 13 dBi. Again, I've only seen ones and twos of those show up.
If you're into home made antennas, it's pretty easy to come up with 18-20 dBi by building a shallow cone and placing a dipole in front of it.

Best antenna depends on location you are installing it at . Your best solution is always a good antenna and an amplifier if you are truly signal Challenged. |

| Thanks maximum signal for such a quick response. I am not sure exactly what I need in terms of specific antennae /amplifier, as i am new to this technology. All I can tell you is I am located about 20 miles away from the wireless provider antennae. If you are familiar with the AxessTel modem ...the signal strength LED indicator is always on red (poor signal). |

Actually there are plenty of patch antennas around. Here are some small/lower gain ones but unless you are constrained for space go for something larger like a 3' parabola, though this vendor may be pricey. Most bang for the buck may be a $50 2.4 GHz WiFi parabola with the feed retuned for PCS. I haven't searched but it could well be that PCS versions of this sort of thing are available. I have no connection with the above vendors other than they showed up when I searched.
If you really need something cheap, you can cut a circle out of rabbit wire and notch a "pie slice" out of it. Pull the cut together to form a shallow cone and then mount a dipole at the focal point. Pick the Pie slice angle to generate a ~ .5*diameter focal point. A cone isn't a parabola but at this frequency the difference isn't significant until you get well over a foot in diameter and you can get ~18 dBi this way. It needn't cost more than a couple of bucks. Something like this beats the pants off of a "Pringles Can" antenna.
