In the Sprint software, there is an option to lock to EVDO only. Is this possible in the router?
Thanks. |

What happenes when you lose EVDO signal? In my office, sometimes my card switches to 1xrtt mode, which I am assuming means that it has lost the EVDO signal.
When your card is "locked to EVDO" do you just lose your connection when you lose the EVDO signal? |

That is the report I have received from users. Never has happened to me while locked to EVDO on Sprint, but my usage area apparently doesn't have the traffic.
I've spoken to a couple of customers located in high-usage areas that were EVDO-locked. Instead of getting stepped down to 1xRTT the connection was dropped. |

Of course if the card is locked only to EVDO it will not step down, You are telling the card "hey, there is an EVDO signal so use it, you cannot use ANY OTHER signal no matter what!" So, if you lose EVDO, you will be dropped. Even in a high traffic area. You can leave it set to automatic so if you do lose the connection you will drop to 1Xrtt. However, it may connect only to 1xRTT even in an EVDO area because the cards are flakey like that sometimes. I would just leave it locked in. If you notice you are getting a lot of disconnects, then set it to Automatic. _________________
