I spend 5-6 months a year traveling and have a base in a campground in NE OH where I cannot get landline service. In the past I have used Verizon Quick 2Net in this location with no problems. I purchased the V620 in my winter home in Texas, being told it would work in this 1X area for RTT. Hd good results while traveling but alas, while I could connect here, the signal was very irratic. I purchased the booster antenna and am doing much better... but even my cell phone loses calls this season. I am wondering if all these improvements are causing neglect of other service. I have spoken numerous times to tech service... but I lose calls while talking to them! . I am located just a mile south of I 90 so would expect to get better signals. My Alltel cell always has more bars than the Verizon. So glad I found this website! I am a 67 year old grandma with an internet addiction and depend on my computer for bill paying and family connections while traveling. Any thoughts for me? |

Thanks for the reply! I am really learning a lot from the forum.
My zip is 44010. In NE Ohio. about 45 miles east of Cleveland . I am just about a mile south of I-90 and a mile east of state rt. 534. Both the salesman and the tech I talked to told me I was in a 1x area... . Had little or no problems with my Verizon cell in the past few years. Something has changed. Certainly am glad I bought the booster. It really helps! |

Yes, you are in 1xRTT coverage area.

Maybe, there are lots more cell phones and data cards using the same towers?
If the antenna booster helps and you want even faster and more coverage, perhaps a Inteligain Signal Amplifier will help you. Search on these forums, there are lots of discussions about them. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Thanks again... I had looked at the intelligain amplifiers and have been thinking about that. We'll see what my tolerance level is with this booster. No doubt I would find the amplifier useful in our travels where there are low signal areas.
