| It surfs pretty well if you have an EVDO signal. I have been very impressed. Not quite cable, but close! Try it and see what you think. |

the wifi is also restricted to 1 mbps.. it's wireless-b, so it should go to 11...
it'll be released to general consumers on july 7th, look for someone to crack the wifi limit by the 8th.. just my $.02. |

| ok, charged it... No, it didn't come with the camera. I don't care either way, yet... The lady said it was on it, owell. So, you can't have two phone #'s. They were gonna let me do it anyway when I ordered, b/c I wanted to get rid of carrying two phones, but you'd have to get two data plans, b/c of the different nav settings. screw that, then put my work cell # on the i730 and just kept my personal phone the way it was. I'm on the work # 99% of the time anyways. Initial impression-Awesome. I've got 15 days to see if I keep it. I'll let you know. evdo seems to be damn fast so far. How do I see what my connection speed is????? later |

| not sure yet. I'm only using the small battery and I've been too busy to spend much time on it yet. Plus I forgot the wall charger at work. so I charge it from my truck in the garage-22 floors below me. I'll let you know as the week progresses. |

| Quote: | | One issue is that the Wi-Fi and EVDO connections can't run simultaneously. This isn't a problem if you're in one of the places that supports Verizon's EVDO network. But when you're not, and have to switch to Wi-Fi mode, you lose phone service—it won't even ring! Suddenly, this Wi-Fi bonus sounds like a burden. |
For those using the i730 as a phone and data device, that is not good _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I saw that too, and wondered why the phone would be totally disabled. But in considering it, I don't see it as a huge deal since for me, I'd have to be pretty desperate for email to pay extra to connect to WiFi, and if I was doing that it probaby means that there is no VZW coverage at all so no phone anyway (like in Springfield, MO). Otherwise, I'd probably just download email at the slower National Access rate and be happy for any connectivity.
I'm going to go look at these today to see if it is the one for me or if I wait for the smaller i640 this fall. |

Not Internet Ready?
Do a comparison between the VX6600 and the i730 on verizon wireless website; the i730 is listed as not internet ready and the VX6600 is internet ready.
Does this mean the i730 can not be conected to a PC as a modem? |

| I had the same question. Michael has a post in this thread that tells how to use the i730 as a modem. It looks like it works; anyone got experience? |
