was trying to setup my company's PC5740 PCMCIA card for use during a trip to Montreal. My XP Pro Dell 8200 laptop would detect the cart and install the drivers, but VZAccess manager would not find it. VZW's Wireless Data support was very helpful and we tried many things to get it to work but could not solve the problem and the tech thought my card might have become defective.

I use PDANet for my Cingular Treo 650. As soon as I exited PDANet and tried the VZAccess setup wizard again, it found my card and activated it. I had previously disabled HotSync and ActiveSync (for my Sprint PPC 6700).

I just thought I would post this in case it helps someone else
