Does anyone know of a site similar to Mapquest, MapsOnUs, etc. with both maps and driving directions that you can read on a PDA? Mapquest has small maps that are great in every way except one: no street names.
Thanks. |

You don't have to be online to use the maps from Mapopolis, you subscribed to the service, download the maps you need and use them right on the PDA. Palm, Smartphone and Pocket PC versions available. I usually prefer their maps to any online product. Only drawback is that they are county by county, so you have to know what county you want. I keep all of FL on the SD in my PPC with no problem.
Another resident in your PDA map is from Delorme's Street Atlas, though I have not used that very much. You select what part of the map you want on your PC, so it can overlap counties, then download it. _________________ Thomas M. Goethe |

I got the 2007 Street Atlas and with a reasonable memory card, you can hold virtually anything you want. In addition, it interfaces with bluetooth GPS receivers and lets you see yourself on the map.
I may have gotten a slight discount but I think SA is around $40. Has places of interest, draw and distance capability, routing and other stuff too.

Since posting about my experience with DeLorme Street Atlas I've recently installed and tried out GoogleMaps on my Treo 700P. Other than the lack of GPS support this could almost be a do all. It has both the street map and satellite views with complete zoom-in as well as turn-by-turn routing.
Considering that it is free, I'd have to rate it as a higher value than Street Atlas, even though there's no GPS support.

P.S. It also has real time traffic support! |

I like the dragable map idea to show another area. Wish all maps used that instead of the arrows. |
