This would be the 2nd official EVDO device. Well, the ball is finally rolling.

Thanks for the official report. We reported on EVDOinfo.com, that Sprint would carry the Novatel V620:

Also, Sprint has the Kyocera KPC650 in the labs and it will most likely be approved too.

BTW, thanks for the post, you beat Sprint's official press release by 12 hours!

Sprint Offers Novatel Wireless S620

Some may be wondering, what is the difference between the Novatel V620 and the Novatel S620. The cards appear to be identical:

V = Verizon's version
S = Sprint's Version

While the cards are identical from the computer's point of view, there is one significant difference between them - the Verizon card is dual-band, while the Sprint version is single-band (1900 mHz only). I suppose there is no way of confirming that either way short of opening up the card, but accoding to the specs in the manual (Sprint version; didn't get any actual Novatel docs with mine) that's what it is. I wonder if there is any advantage to that? Theoretically, as least, I'd think a single-band radio would use less power than a dual-band radio. OTOH, only one band is in use at any given moment on a dual-band, so the power savings, if any, would probably be virtually imperceptible.
