|
|
I read a few weeks ago, how many people are getting Nevada area codes because the taxes are so much lower and they are saving $20 or more a month in taxes.
So, I pulled out my Verizon bill for last month to see what the taxes were.
Unlimited Access $79.99
Taxes .05
Total Bill $80.04
Just to confirm, can everyone post their area code for their card and what the taxes were.
Make sure you also indicate whether you are on Verizon or Sprint.
I am area code 858 and taxes are .05
This thread might also help others, as many think the taxes on the monthly unlimited will be high (when it really isn't).
Looking forward to other responses! _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier

I was talking with a few people last week who were about to sign up for BroadbandAccess and there were thinking taxes would add another $20/month to their bill.
Anyone get a nickel a month in taxes charge??
Seems like this is the normal - that is good. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

My area code is (619) and my bill is $79.99 Service + $0.05 Fee for a $80.04 total.
The nickel is not a tax but a fee. Someone will have to break down and call Verizon Wireless to find out what we're getting for our nickels.
On the tax issue, as I wrote elsewhere:

Tax Free Telecoms
So I got my first regular bill for my Verizon EVDO high speed wireless broadband service and I noticed something missing - taxes. Verizon charges $79.99 a month for their high speed data service and I just got a PC card with no voice plan.
So no voice plan meant no telephone taxes and New York had removed sales taxes from monthly ISP service fees way back in the CompuServe era. (That was a funny experience. In the '80s ISP connections were tax free in New York, then they started charging sales taxes as soon as the state noticed ISPs existed, then they decided to remove the taxes because the ISPs pointed out that customers could just sign up out of state. -- As I did with my wireless data plan.)
Anyway, my bill was $79.99 + a 5 cent fee from Verizon for a total of $80.04. (I have to ask Verizon what the nickel is for.)
I hope it's a while before NYS finds out I'm making VOIP phone calls with my service. |

My bill is $59 plus $1.29 in taxes, surcharges, fees with no break down on the catagories. Plus, I get a 10% discount on the line also. 303 is my area code. _________________ EVDO Addict.

I live in area code 651 (In Minnesota, Twin Cities metro). But the number I was auto-assigned has an 858 area code.
Monthly charges - 79.99
Usage charges - .00
Verizon Wireless surcharges and other charges and credits - .46
Taxes, governmental surcharges and fees - .53
Total current charges - $80.98
And for those not aware, you can easily view your current and past bills at:
https://myaccount.verizonwireless.com/vzs/loginform
Also, your current data usage is shown right on the main page. You can also get your historical usage on the full adobe version of your bills, or more easily by using the ‘Call Details’ link under ‘View & Print Bills’. I mention this as the question seems to come up often, and since I was there getting the above details anyway.... |

Sprint is charging me $81.34/month. One charge that I actually called them on is a 911 surcharge for my Sierra 580 aircard.
I can't make calls from the card, yet they charge me a 911 surcharge and wouldn't remove it. I told them Verizon doesn't charge this and they still won't remove it. |

Michael,
We have all of the taxes allowed on the bill. I don't have them with me, i'm in a motorhome, but my total taxes for two 59.99 options amounts to close to $10.00. Of course, for me it's worth it, between the service, etc. _________________ Kitty and Al

Jeez, I am with Sprint and I am getting killed in taxes.
Taxes, surcharges and other fees $7.50
Monthly bill $79.99
Total: $87.49
I am in the area code 720. I have no idea why my taxes are so insanely high. |
