We will be getting in a PX-500 later this week and we will be able to see what type of antenna connector it has. Once we know the type of antenna port the PX500 has, it will make it simple to hook up external antennas and amplifiers.
If anyone has one and know what type of RF connector it has, please reply.

| I just recently bought a px500 data card and I went out and also got the wilson 359909 adapter. This connector does not fit the card. It barely makes it thru the plastic housing and could not connect to the female connnector inside the card. Has anyone tried the IAC001 adapter with the card? |

I got the wilson 359919 adapter. it works ok from what I can tell tonight. I'll post more when we get into other areas. with this card it's hard to tell if it's got much of a improvement so far. and it sticks way outside the card. I'll post pics tomorrow. Wish me luck. I really don't want to have to buy another stupid adapter.
Cya all l8r.

Well....here I am again. this adapter worked ok for awhile but it doesn't go flush with the card and it bent down and the golden antenna center bent and then broke....I need a better adapter if this is the best they have then I guess I'm just screwed maybe I'll have to file the silver part down a bit so it fits better into the hole.
Anyone else find a better adapter then the one mentioned above?
Thanks,

So what is the generic name for the Pantech PX-500 antenna connector? _________________ Rod Montrose |

rod, the connector is not a common type with a name used by others.
its proprietary to the manufacturer. you might want to ask pantech.
good luck with that. |

I've tried a Wilson 359919 and it doesn't work for me. It makes it worse than not having an antenna at all. While the 359919 female connector is smaller than the 359909, it still seems too big to make a connection.
Has anybody had success with a PX-500 and an external antenna??? |

If you tried lots of different adapters that were not designed for your PX-500, it is possible that your antenna port on your PX-500 is now damaged and/or the connector will not accept the correct cable. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

|

Hi - I've tried the Wilson adapter which did not fit at all. I contacted Pantech who told me that the port was a 'test' port and that an external antenna is not supported.
Please let me know what adapter anyone has found that actually fits and works?
Thanks!!! |
