You don't.
I was using a S620 with a Powerbook 17".
The latest updates was "for Intel MacBooks". An earlier update worked with the older Macs. The two are exclusive and you should be able to use the Mac menu item for either.
In either event, Verizon provides its own interface although some delete it and use the Mac menu item. Sprint recently offered the Novatel interface for Intel Macs. |

I just installed the drivers for PPC provided by 3GStore on a 10.3.9 Powerbook G4 400. The read me stated 10.4 was required, but it worked very well in 10.3.9
In 10.4.8 on an Intel MBP with Apple WAN support, the pre-activated card worked straight out of the box. Login and password was all there, walla!
The only strange thing is that both systems consider each USB port as a different device. So, I have to hunt for the correct device in the list. |

hey gilsurf, what kind of speeds are you getting from USVI?
(you won't be able to post a graphic, but go to speedtest.net and tell us what speeds are like) |

The speed range is all over... I am on a boat and do not yet have my marine antenna hocked up. Inside the boat, I have 2 bars and get anywhere from 250 up and down to 800 d and 400 u (Rev A I assume).
If you look at the sprint coverage maps, you will see a slew of new antennas going up in Puerto Rico and even here. Local phone service is not great so cell service is taking off.

|
|
Got my Merlin EVDO card configured on my buddy's PC laptop and we confirmed that the modem worked, but it doesn't want to connect on my Mac. (MBP, 2.0). I can see the card in the menu bar, signal bars, etc. but it won't connect.
What modem should I have selected in Internet Connect or am I missing something. It also asks for a telephone number, username and password, but the PC didn't need that so I think I messed something up somewhere.
Help please!
Thanks!

|
|
Has anyone had any luck getting a Cisco VPN to work with the U720 on a Mac? My U720 works fine...until I try to use the Cisco VPN client. Then, I can connect for exactly 5 secs using the VPN, and then get booted out of VPN with a:
"Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client" error.
Anyone seen this? My EVDO connection stays connected, it just can't maintain the VPN session. (And the VPN client works fine with Wi-Fi or wired connections).
Thanks for any help you can provide...

I actually replied to that list as well. I tried that exact fix (and a couple of variations, just to be sure), and still couldn't get it to work.
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks - Jeff |

| How can those of us still using older mac oses use this modem directly? Right now I have it plugged into my KR1, which works wonderfully, but I'd like to be able to travel with it. There seems to have been a driver that worked, but the link was pulled. Does the sprint update work despite the listed sys requirements, or am I just SOL? |

Toad, I can't answer about the direct connection, but you can travel with your EVDO, because the KR1 itself is a mobile router. It comes with an adapter for your vehicle (plug it in where you'd plug a cellphone charger).
