XV 6700 force roam to alltel

I get the worst reception at my home with verizon. I am constantly getting 0 or 1 bar and missing important calls. When my pda loses all of Verizons signal it roams onto an Alltel tower and picks up 3 to 4 bars of strength. How can I set up my phone to use Altells towers at home Question

Check with a local Alltel store for the local SID
Change the programming in your phone to this SID
Dial *228 to update the PRL (preferred roaming list)
Power off / On your phone and use the new settings.
