I used a 5220 with EVDO in Orlando at a trade show. It rocked. I hope to have similar performance at the other events I attend. They're all in cities listed as having EVDO service. I need a simple data pipe to demo a web-based application. The average trade show fee is $1,200 for 3 days worth of a single IP address.

Who has the external antenna? Does it help? I want to see if it will improve or sustain performancer inside a convention center.

Who has used the speed-up document?

Any insight appreciated.

Scott

I think it would be a great resource to list convention centers along with the number of EVDO bars, external antenna (if any) used. Yes, it can save a LOT of money by using EVDO, vs. paying those convention prices. I updated the EVDO Coverage topic, so please post your details in that topic. If enough people going to trade shows post the details, it will make it easier for those that do trade shows and want to save a bundle by using EVDO.

By adding a router, you have a complete portable moving internet location for any trade show. Even without a router, you can easily share the EVDO connection with other in your booth. The links below show you how to share your EVDO connection with others in Windows or Mac OS X:
