Very interesting!
I've noticed however that in my immediate area they are only showing future coverage in cities that DO NOT have Sprint EV-DO (Granted the particular cities I'm looking at South Bend, Elkhart, and Fort Wayne, IN are all iPCS Affiliate markets).
Whereas Kalamazoo, MI is not showing future coverage, an area that is not an iPCS Affliiate market and has Sprint corporate EV-DO service.

Similar in central CA. Verizon is going after central CA along I5, where Sprint just acquired the affiliate and doesn't plan to upgrade til next year. But Sprint shows PCH for future coverage from LA to SJ while Verizon does not.
I wonder when Verizon plans to complete the areas marked for future? Sprint plans end of the year for futures, and then eventually a third phase to convert acquired affilates.
If the stars align and the sun gods of the Incas are good to us, maybe.. just maybe Sprint and Verizon will come up with EVDO roaming agreements. Fat chance in the near future, but they sure could help each other out as well as us. |

| Would it be funny, Sprint and Verizon EVDO roaming... I can finally play games and stream video on Verizon without getting terminated since I switched to Sprint. |

The maps show future coverage in Central California along the 99 (i.e. Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia, etc.) not the 5 (there's not many cities along the 5, which runs thru the West side of the Central Valley).
Interesting though, with Sprint supposedly going for the Central Coast along the 101....
Wonder when we'll see any of it, though....

I guess it is true that VZW wil be putting EVDO on 800mhz. Go figure. The areas here in CO they plan on putting EVDO are all 800mhz I know this for a fact. Very intersting. I will never switch back to them soley because of the ToS. We are not getting into that debate though. I would like to see what their rollout will be and if they will be putting Rev A on 800mhz hrm. _________________

So, 2 cities I spend lots of time in are indicated as 'Future Coverage'-Yuma and Flagstaff, Az. Any indication of how long after identified as 'Future Coverage' we can hope for BB? _________________ Boni Pienups |

| It's hard to say when future coverage areas will go live. I wish they had a list on which cities are next on the list. |

Their maps as we all well know are not up to date even with the future coverage areas. Our area San Luis Obispo Ca. and surrounding areas is scheduled to go evdo by March or sooner and have been told by a Verizon tech friend of mine to watch for the ev on my phone as they start testing then shortly thereafter it will fully implemented. Their maps are so far out of date it's ridiculous.

deparson...
Not unless they changed since last Thursday lol! I've never trusted their OUTDATED maps. I've been in evdo areas before that weren't even listed on their maps and locals told me they had had it for months. The friend of mine who is a Verizon tech is involved with the upgrade. I asked him why the map didn't show it. his reply? Those maps are useless. His words lol, not mine. Way too many times I've found discrepancies in their maps. My point is only not to put a whole lot of credence in accuracy of their maps is all.
