As a company that supports and sells the Kyocera KR1, we think this is great move to get the KR1 name in front of more customers.

For those that are interested in purchasing their KR1 (from us), we do provide top notch support (including Alltel customers).

Kyocera Wireless Announces Availability of Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router for Alltel Enterprise Wireless Data Customers

Alltel Becomes First Domestic Carrier to Launch Groundbreaking Cellular Router

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 2006--Kyocera Wireless, a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices, announced today that the Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router is now available as part of Alltel's wireless data business solutions. Alltel Wireless is the first U.S. CDMA carrier to make the KR1 Mobile Router directly available to its enterprise and small- to medium-sized business channel.

The Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router takes a single CDMA2000® 1x Evolution Data Optimized (EV-DO) broadband connection and creates a mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for multiple PCs using 802.11b&g technology and delivers download speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps. A universal accessory, the KR1 Mobile Router can be used with most PCMCIA cards using EV-DO 3G wireless technology, including the Kyocera Passport KPC650 EV-DO PC card, or with most USB-enabled EV-DO handsets.

"Wireless networks and technologies are evolving quickly and offering new capabilities far beyond voice on wireless handsets," said Tom Maguire, vice president of global marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "The KR1 Mobile Router is a logical complement to our highly successful Passport EV-DO PC card and it allows professionals and home users to quickly set up and share a broadband wide area connection in any remote or mobile environment with a cellular signal."

The easy-to-use Kyocera KR1 Mobile Router can be installed in minutes virtually anywhere and provides high speed Internet and data access for multiple users. An advanced firewall and additional security controls such as 128-bit WEP encryption provide protection against viruses, hacking and identity theft. A cost-effective alternative to traditional networks, the KR1 Mobile Router is especially useful for mobile work groups such as dispatch teams, consultants, road-warrior sales groups, satellite offices, command posts, and more. It can also be used as a reliable alternative for fixed broadband services in households.

Measuring 21.5 cm x 13.5 cm x 2.3 cm and weighing 453 grams, the KR1 Mobile Router includes an intuitive configuration wizard and Web-based device management using Internet Explorer 6, Netscape Navigator 6 and other JAVA(TM) enabled browsers.

A PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award winner, CNET "Best of CES 2006" finalist and a Qualcomm 3G A-List Awards 2006 finalist honoring innovative and successful wireless data solutions, the KR1 Mobile Router is now available from Alltel for $299.99. During September, Kyocera Wireless is offering a $50 mail-in rebate when the KR1 is purchased along with a PC card from any manufacturer.(a)
