I found this on wirelessadvisor.com forums. You can see coverage strength estimates down to street level. You have to click the checkbox for PowerVision to see EVDO coverage. Can optionally show roaming coverage and can show Nextel iDen coverage.

It's not officially released yet and is still under development. Has some quirkiness but generally works.
Now shows active EVDO in San Luis Obispo, which I don't think used to be there. Still seems too conservative. I punched in a friend's address who has had solid EVDO since last December, still doesn't show up on maps. |

Doesn't seem to show future EVDO coverage as the original maps do. Sprint recently announced they now cover 158m population with EVDO, up from 153m population earlier this year. I'm guessing the maps reflect the 153m and not yet 158m pops.
Is anyone getting EVDO in an area yet it doesn't show up on the map? |

| We have had Sprint EVDO in sections of 94903 since June 22, 2006 that still do not show up on the map. |

Looks like the link was shut off to outsiders. I imagine it was not intended to be leaked. It was rather slow later in the day yesterday, so they probably only have it on a small test server intended for a few testers and was probably hit by hundreds.
Word is, link will be back on Monday. A Sprint employee on wirelessadvisor.com says it should be officially released by end of Month. |

They are back up! (as of 9/16 9:20AM EDT)
Very interesting, especially as I was able to confirm that CDMA coverage in my area is nothing compared to iDEN. (Sturgis, MI)
Still very cool to have this!

| Sprint should setup a checkbox option for user-generated-content, where users can report where they got EVDO signals (with strength) not shown on maps as the maps are much too conservative. |

| Yes the maps do seem conservative as they don't show vision where I am but I have my s720 on EVDO only and it has a strong signal and rarely drops. |

| What amazes me is that the 'North Shore' of Minnesota (north side of Lake Superior) has had 1xRTT native Sprint coverage for like a year now, and it still doesn't show up on any maps. Crazy stuff. |

Sprint officially announced this today. Once again, the clever followers of EVDOforums, have been using it for the last few weeks.
| Quote: | Sprint Launches Power Network Coverage Tool Making It Easier For Customers to Check Network Coverage
New interactive maps give customers the power to ensure network coverage exists where they live, work and travel
The Sprint Power Network Coverage Tool is located at http://www.sprint.com/coverage
RESTON, Va. — 10/11/2006
As part of its ongoing effort to put the power of its networks in the hands of customers, Sprint (NYSE: S) today announces the launch of its Power Network Coverage Tool that will enable customers to access detailed coverage maps which zoom down to the street address level and display network signal strength.
By entering an address or zip code, the maps will offer customers the ability to view the availability of wireless coverage on both the Nextel National NetworkSM and the Nationwide Sprint PCS NetworkSM, along with signal strength information. Customers will also be able to check the availability of Sprint's high-speed Power VisionSM data service. Sprint leads the wireless industry in data adoption, operates the largest mobile broadband network, and now is the first wireless carrier to show street-level coverage for EV-DO services.
Another bonus of the tool is that customers can also view the location of recently added cell sites in many areas.
"Sprint is committed to improving customer satisfaction and with the Power Network Coverage Tool we are now able to tell customers what the quality of the network is based on where they live and work," said Tim Kelly, president of customer management for Sprint. "We have heard our customers, and the launch of this tool represents a significant change to how we sell our service and another dramatic step in educating our customers on the service quality of our network."
Available to customers both online at www.sprint.com/coverage and at self-service touch-screen kiosks at approximately 800 Sprint retail stores, the interactive Power Network Coverage Tool will be simple to use and help set network coverage expectations for customers before they actually sign up for wireless service. By demonstrating coverage of multiple networks, customers can also better determine which network best suits their needs.
Sprint expects its mapping tool will give customers the opportunity to enjoy great value and unmatched wireless capabilities on any of its powerful networks. And, the new tool will help to ensure customers have all of the facts upfront about the strength of the network before choosing a wireless carrier, helping to build trust between Sprint and the customer at the onset.
Shortly after launch, Sprint plans to introduce several industry-first features that will provide customers visibility into where Sprint plans on further enhancing coverage. As part of these enhancements customers will be able to view future cell site locations within 60 days of planned build out. Later this year when Sprint rolls out its upgraded EV-DO Revision A mobile broadband network, which provides more capacity and faster data rate speeds, customers will be able to view EV-DO Revision A coverage on the Power Network Coverage Tool as well.
"This is a service we're proud to begin offering our customers," said Kelly. "It's important to Sprint that our customers not only continue to have the highest quality network, but the satisfaction of knowing we put the power of Sprint service in their hands." |

| I may be going to Cragun's near Brainerd in a few weeks. Does anybody know if I will have EVDO coverage at Cragun's? |
