The bios flash seems to be holding on my zv6000. It has been just over 24 hours with no BSOD. That's a good sign. It will have to go for a full week before I will declare it fixed.

I'd just like to thank Craig for his assistance on this issue/problem. I am looking forward to the final release of this updated BIOS as well in the near future (was told by support it should be out within approximately a week).

Sorry to hear you guys with the dv8000 are strung out waiting for the fix. I have not had a BSOD on my zv6000 since installing the bios fix on the 22nd. What a relief.

Just put the flash update on my DV8113cl - now to see how long it'll go - I've got a download going and browsing the web at the same time here. Will keep you updated.

Update: over 4 hours and going strong - This is a 1st for this card - Usually after 10-15 minutes at best I was getting the BSOD.

Craig - thanks again for all the help/info. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Updated mine to F.44 the other day and had not one problem since. Looks to me like they were able to get this bug resolved finally.

I am having a problem with a couple of Compaq NC6400 models blue-screening at random times. They both use a Sprint PCS card. I have already updated the BIOS for this model but that didn't seem to solve the issue.

This model of computer does not appear to be listed on HP's website as one to have issues but obviously there are issues. Should I get with Sprint and try to get a different card? Anyone else have this model of laptop with the same issue?

Which specfic EVDO card are you using on your nc6400? What are the symptoms of the problem, and steps to reproduce the problem. Please contact HP and open a case and post your case number to this forum. Please hang onto any minidumps you have.
Thanks,
Craig Hildebrandt
