1240 up, 190 down

REV A on an Aircard 595u in Parsonsburg, MD (21849)

As a note, I cannot get cable or DSL out here so I was pretty shocked when I was told I could get it last week. Ive been dealing with 19.2kbps dialup for the last like..10 years. ugh

Is Sprint still saying their entire network will have EVDO by the end of the year? I haven't seen anything about it recently. I moved to a 1x only area, and after having EVDO I really miss it. Does anybody know? TIA - sheureka

The latest word is that Sprint will continue to rollout EVDO and hit 230m population by end of 2007. The voice network is about 255m or so, so not the whole network yet. It will take time for affiliates and those they acquired to get converted. Maybe 100% of network will be completed by 2008.

Verizon has said nothing about 100% of network going EVDO this year either.

No, Verizon said they've completed the conversion of Rev0 to RevA. They have about 210m EVDO coverage so far, but the voice network is over 255m.

no, not quite. wherever they offer their Verizon BroadBandAccess EVDO, it is Rev-A

there is still quite a large chunk of their network that is, and will likely remain, 1xrtt NationalAccess... same as sprint.

Should also be pointed out that Sprint also roams on Alltel EVDO while Verizon does not yet, so Sprint's overall area coverage is much larger in some states. But Verizon probably leads in RevA coverage at the moment.

Remember along those lines that Alltel is deploying Rev A now too. Limited areas but they are actually doing it now. With Alltel's rural coverage going Rev A and the roaming agreement between Alltel and Sprint that combo will be very hard to beat. Oh, and they actually offer unlimited service too!

I'm not in an affiliate or recently acquired area - this has been a corporate Sprint area for at least the last 7 years. Oh well. Patience. - sheureka
