What's your signal strength? What's odd is that many Rev0 users get over 1Mbps for downloads, shown below yet not many RevA users have gotten that high yet.

Looks like DC is also turned on with RevA, according to upload speed.

The test site above was in Florida, try one closer to you and please record results into archive after each test.

East Coast test site
http://newyork.speedtest.tds.net/

Midwest test sites...
http://speed.nap.wideopenwest.com/
http://speed.col.wideopenwest.com/
http://www.everestkc.net/index.php?module=speedtest

There are others but these allow storing results into dslreports archive.

Signal strength is ~ -80dBm to -95dBm.

After tweaking my TCP receive window and using the New York TDS.net test, I was getting anywhere from 550-850kbps down / 200-250kbps up.

I'm in the Detroit Area and in Warren, MI near the GM Tech Center I connected to EVDO Rev. A today with 4 different S720 cards.

I will have to post speed test results tomorrow when I'm back in my office. At home I only have EVDO Rev. 0.

In downtown LA:

dslreports.com speed test 2006-10-31 06:57:07 EST:
1204 / 699 (Kbps)
(146.9 / 85.3 KB/sec)
Compared to the average of 200 tests from spcsdns.net:
* download is 89% better, upload is 694% better

Ping times to my work webservers are about avg 85 - 100ms.

I'm using the Sprint EVDO network for access and have the Pantech PX500 Rev A card but Rev A hasn’t been turned on in Buena Park (Los Angeles) CA but my upload and download times have been ok with signal strength between -71dBm to -83dBm but I think I can do better if my latency (ping) times were lower. I have downloaded and ran TCP Optimizer 2.0.3 which helped my speeds but latency times have always been consistently high and I'm looking for suggestions to lower those times. I'm using a 2005 Toshiba-XP(SP2)-1gb RAM and no spyware or viruses. Here are my numbers:

Thanks for your help.

Can we keep this thread on the topic of EVDO Rev A sightings, only post, if you hover the mouse over the signal indicator and see 1xEVDO Rev A

Some RevA results are showing up here...
http://www.dslreports.com/archive/spcsdns.net

1214/761 Hoboken, NJ, USA
1204/699 Sprint Los Angeles, CA, USA
1126/260 Sprint Dunellen, NJ, USA
1043/701 Wellesley Hills, MA, USA
941/179 Sprint Dunellen, NJ, USA
883/304 Sprint EV-DO-Rev A San Diego, CA, USA
770/591 Hoboken, NJ, USA
699/303 Sprint PCS - Pantech Boston, MA, USA
611/297 spcsdns.net Washington, DC, USA
519/403 Sprint Mobile Broadb La Jolla, CA, USA
498/221 Sprint PCS - Pantech Brookline, MA, USA

Download Avg: 864Kbps (typically 550-700Kbps for Rev0 before RevA)
Upload Avg: 429Kbps (typically 80-90Kbps avg for Rev0)

The bad news is that download performance isn't better than Rev0 in terms of peaks. But there are few RevA download results so far below 500Kbps, so the bottom and average performance of RevA appears better. Uplink looks good enough to do VoIP and should improve VPN sessions and online gaming.

There are not enough RevA results posted yet to really get a decent understanding.

If you have TRUE RevA connection (as shown in Michael's image above), please test and record results from one of these test sites...

Coasts

East Coast

Midwest test sites...

I wonder if some of lack luster down performance may be due to tower back haul or lack there of? Also unless they're upgrading that and fine tuning, it will be interesting to see when more and more heavy hitting user on REV A start coming online on a single tower how things hold up. I have to believe at this point increased bandwidth demand on a tower has got to be at very low end of the ramp up curve for Rev A.

I was at my home (very near to Dulles Airport) saw my arrows go yellow and did a speed test last night, this is what I got. I ran it a few times and some times would get better upload speeds, but mostly ~70k. I got to work this morning in Reston (just east of the airport) and no more yellow arrows. =\ Ill try to post again if I can get some better speeds. Also I tried messing with the HA's but that didnt seem to really make any difference in bandwidth, but it did increase the ping delay some. Right now Im on 68.28.113.76/77 which is homed out of sl-gw2-pen (sprintlink gateway Pennsauken, NJ) I tried the HA 68.28.241.76/77 for sl-gw21-rly (sprintlink gateway Relay,MD aka Elkridge, MD) which should be closer to northern VA where I live but that didnt help at all, pennsauken is consistantly faster and gives much better ping times for me???

Kinda strange. I have access to the Sprintlink routers so I verifyied the routing for my IP range is coming from the correct routers, Im just not sure why the Relay router is giving me higher ping times than the Pennsauken router.

I have just put myself at the top of the dslrports list with a 2448 down and 790 up. now keep in mind I got this performance sitting at the sprint store but it does show what this will be capable of.

That's pretty significant. Did you get a chance to do a ping test?

Looking at the results, there are also more 1Mbps+ entries than ever, even for Rev0 users. Perhaps Sprint has been adding more capacity to towers in anticipation of RevA. Or perhaps RevA cards are performing better even on Rev0 towers than Rev0 only cards. I've also been told that Rev0 devices will perform relatively/slightly better on RevA towers than Rev0 towers in same conditions. No matter how you slice, performance for both RevA and Rev0 devices seems to be improving. Fewer % also are getting below 400Kbps than before RevA devices - big improvement.

I've never seen this many 1Mbps+ entries....

The ping's were between 80 and 110 doing either ping test or trace route.

EVDO Rev A is live in Milwaukee. Downtown I had DL speeds of 1Mbps and uplink speeds of 200-400kbps. Round trip delay is 100-200ms. Near Pewaukee with a modest RSSI of -86dbi, I had DL speeds of 450kbps and uplink speeds of 400kbps.
