Hi, I hope I'm in the proper forum for this question. I'm experiencing an unusual amount of disconnects where I would normally have a fairly stable connection in the New York City area. I use the KPC650 on a large boat with a 55' height for the antenna, the bridge is quite high up so I'm thinking the antenna is well exposed to the available signal. Normally I make use of the card while docked and not moving. The frequent disconnects leads me to think the card may be failing. It heats up quite a bit while in service and starts disconnecting or indicating "device not inserted". It will occasionally indicate a failure to power up while already in operation. Very strange. If I pull the card and let it cool (it does cool quickly), I'll have no real change in the connectivity issues. Sometimes I'll need to reboot entirely just to get the card to behave.
Anyway I look at it, I think the heating issue may be more or less a part of the problem, but I need to ask if these symptoms are a recognized prelude to card failure.
Should that be the case, who should I be speaking with about a replacement card and how much will this set me back? I carry the insurance coverage that was offered at the time of purchase, so I expect it might be the $50.00 amount . The card was new in June..

Bill
p.s.: The prl is as up to date as it can be, it tells me I'm running the latest version when I check for updates. I recently increased the ram in my Presario v2000 to 768mb.
