Yeah, the price surprised me too but I had to have it. Delivery date is tomorrow! Maybe the price will drop down to the advertised price of $200 in a few weeks or months.

If you use that free shipping code, you WILL NOT be able to choose anything except ground (it selects is for you).

On that note.. I should be getting mine on saturday. Can't wait.
Also, it IS around $200. If you take off 15% of 300 (45) and add the $50 rebate that you will be getting with it (mail in) its $205. Granted that isnt the retail price, but it does come down to the price point we were hoping for. I do however wish we could have bought it from mike. He has helped all of us out tremendiously.

Also Also, DAMN THAT WAS QUICK (the backorders)

Mine left 3:17PM from Anaheim and will arrive Friday. Minor thing but from the email on delivery, it took 8 clicks or so to finally get to the tracking number. They should simply provide the tracking number link in the email.

I received my KR1 at 8:59 AM EST via FedEx Priority Overnight -- actually, $15.99 was a BARGAIN for overnight delivery by 10:30 AM. One surprise is that they INCLUDED the 12V cigarette lighter pwer adapter at no additional charge -- too bad that I ordered one (I plan to use it in my motorhome). Oh, well!

It was a breeze to setup and lock down, including MAC filtering, PSK-TKIP encryption, and disabling SSID broadcast. I was able to connect to my corporate VPN with no additional configuration changes.

I will be sending in my $50 rebate coupon shortly -- I bought the KPC650 in the beginning of September.

Woo Hoo...just arrived via FedEx.

Include both the AC and DC adapters in the shrink wrap package....so now I have an extra DC adapter

My V620 doesn't seem to seat completely...can anyone say if that is normal?

Found the issue with the card seating completely.

The V620 gets thicker (plastic) earlier than the KR1 expects
______________ __________
slot -------/ card ^
______________ -------\__________ |
KR1 V620 ^-lift

Just lift up gently on the V620 to clear to opening and it seats fine.

Well that ascii art isn't....

At any rate, just lift gently on the end of the V620 and it will seat.

Easy setup here with no kinks using the pc5220. The router says to power down prior to removal of PC card. so does that mean just pull the power cord out or is there some other way of powering down the router?

Hello,

Looks like we will get the KR1 after all. We will be making an official announcement Thursday 2.2.2006 and start taking orders. Kyocera sold out of their initial bunch very quickly and the demand is high.

We would like to thank Kyocera for working with us and our customers/audience. We think it will be a win-win for everyone.

We will post more information tomorrow on this thread.

Also, starting tomorrow, look for a specific forum on EVDOforums.com, just for KR1 users.

Good for You Michael . You were one of the main reasons demand was so high.

Maybe...

I just checked, and our review page of the Kyocera KR1 has received around 61,000 hits to the one page.
