|
|
I was able to established a connection via Cisco VPN, but only ICMP worked to my work environment. As soon as I turned off Venturi it started working fine.
Again, XP only....not MAC.
I had to kill the VentC.exe in task manager as it appears there is no other way to turn it off with my settings....Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility. It appears Dell has modified everything since non dell users have settings under the VZaccess where they can turn off the compression. In my case I just show a "V" down in my taskbar which I can't click on in any way which is why I have to kill it in task manager.
I've read lots of other applications not working with Venturi as well. |

|
|
I am a PC user with a similar problem with the V640 card and the Cisco VPN. I am using an Alienware m9700 laptop running Windows Media Center. I can connect to the internet no problem with the V640, but when I launch the VPN client (v4. after about 1-2 minutes of normal connection, the connection is dropped. This is very reproducible. Cisco says that the problem is that Verizon modulates the IP address, and when the address changes the VPN client terminates the connection. Verizon engineers have not responded to me after being sent reams of connection logs, but they do admit that the IP does change...I can of course, purchase a fixed IP for $500/year...I don't think so. This does not make sense though, since I used to connect fine with a V620 PC card with evrything else the same. This wpould suggest to me that there is some bug with this card. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ?!?! |

| I have the same problem, trying to connect to my VPN over my EVDO PPP connection. Please let us know when the new client will be released! |

| After all my discussions with Cisco, my IS department, Alienware and Verizon, I'm not sure if it's a Cisco client problem or a Verizon/V640 card problem. Since my prior V620 PC card modem worked fine with the same Verizon service and the same Cisco client, I'm guessing it's the V640 Express card that has a bug. |

Well, I have to double check it when I get home, but I was able to connect to my corporate network over UDP without any issues. I wasn't able to connect via TCP. But it's not really a great test because I'm AT work, and plugged into the same network that I'm VPN'ing into (and I couldn't unplug the network connection at the time).
So things are looking good right now, but I should have a better idea tonight when I get home.

Well, I just tried it from home, and both TCP and UDP work. So it looks like this version fixed it for me. However I did have to restart the CiscoVPN service, but that's nothing new. |

| I just downloaded the new client and now have no problem getting into my company's internal network. I've been waiting for this for the last three months (since I received one of the first V640's). Now, I don't have to look for a WiFi site to get the older VPN client to connect. |

can someone post it somewhere where it can easily be gotten?
I just registered, validated via email, but I still can't download the file.
When I click on the link, the username/password box comes up, but does not accept the one I just created, yet I'm able to login separately to the cisco site.
It looks like you need to have an upgraded ID to be able to download that file. |

I finally got a friend at Cisco to make it available so that I could download it.
Not sure why it's so difficult to get it as I still could not login trying to download the file.
BUT, I should say that once I was able to download it, I was able to install it, and I was able to use it with Verizon and my One Time Password token with no problems. Whoohoo! |
