Many systems - SuSE Linux - UPDATED

Hi all. Details:
Primary system: Toshiba Satelite S5105 701 with SuSE Linux 10.1 GREAT! The new kernal and drivers in 10.1 recognize the Novatel card on boot and load the correct driver and usbserial driver. Connecting is flawless with any of the dialers. Now, I couldn't get this card setup on this system hen it was dual booting windows XP. It has USB1.1 chips. XP would NOT see it for anything, so I used another system to initialize. I did a dumb thing though, and locked into EVDO only... which as been a bad thing for me in remote areas, where its all or nothing on the signal now. On another thread Michael states that the locking is on the card... so, I would think carefully before locking your card whether you really need to be able to pick up the lower signal in some locations.

This card also works fine on an old IBM 240 and 570 also running SuSE 10. SuSE 10 is not as good at recognizing the card, and you must manually run the kernel module. But it works fine once done. I suggest anyone to update to 10.1 for the much improved everything Very Happy

Wanted to add the following: Had bought a SIIG PCI to PC card adapter for my Asus cube, but hadn't installed it yet. Did so today.. and put the Sprint card in and works perfectly. So this is definitely an option for those wanting to use these on a desktop system.
