Before I plunk down major $$$ on a notebook, anybody know of any issues with an Alienware Area-51m 7700 and the V620?

If anyone is using this card with an Alienware system I'd be grateful if you could let me know if they work together.

Found some specs on the PCMCIA adapter in the notebook if it helps:

The model of the PCMCIA slot of the Alienware 7700 is the 'PCI-1410' made by Texas Instruments. The following information refers to the PCMCIA controller chip:

TI
43A75W
PCI1410APGE

The good news is that this model is not on:

Sierra Wireless PC5220 / AC580 Compatibility Issues

Based on the compatibility information on the above page, it appears that many of the laptops that have issues do not issue enough power to the PCMCIA cards. I would check with the manufacturer on this detail (or wait for someone that has this model to reply to this thread).

I don't know if this will help but I use my 5220 card with my 2 Sager 5600 series notebooks. Sager 5600's are basically the same computer as alienware. Made by the same manufacturer for each company. Even has exactly the same case. By the way Sager's are much less expensive and I swear by them . Check out them out http://www.sagernotebook.com/index.html.
They have great laptops that they custom configure at great prices

I'm using a Novatel 620 Card in my Alienware 7700 and it works fine.
