I have an open question on how to make this set-up work on a mac, but as I've been reading the old posts, I wonder if I'm missing some main point.

A few months ago, a review of Sprint options for a tethered phone were $25 for limited data and $40 month for unlimited data.

I just signed up for this with Qwest, using spring networks, for $10/month. I had called Qwest for a solution to my traveling needs, and really was not up on this whole PAM option. She said I had the best timing EVER and sold me the above plan, saying it had just become available that day (in our area?). I thought it was cheap enough that I would buy a PC to use it, and that's saying something from a life-long mac user.

any thoughts on this?

When I was talking to the salesperson, I described my needs for a PAM. Powervision is just this hokey mini-internet?

What kind of phone do you have? All EVDO bluetooth phones can do PAM on Mac and some will work via USB. It's also possible to do unlimited for $15 on some phones but the 'official' way is $40/month unlimited. Not sure about the Qwest factor though.

I have the SPH-a920. Bluetooth for some reason rings my home phone. Haven't gotten anything to work with USB yet. The post right before this one is a description of my connection problems.

You sound so confident that I'll be able to get this to work. I hope you're right! Please help me? I think I'm lacking the driver for this Powervision phone.

I can use the Sprint PCS description to dial my cell phone, but ultimately I can't connect. Bluetooth is the same thing, except it calls my home phone. I shouldn't have to be dialing anything, right? So I think I'm missing a driver.

Yes, you need the driver. I have the same phone and it works really well. I have never done PAM on it. I have a data card, so I have no need. However, I have been doing some "playing" with the phone, using a nifty program.
If you go to www.sprint.com/downloads you can get your software. It is the second download.

Good Luck!

I've been to that page, but it's only instructions..no drivers. And it's for the cards, not the phones.

I am paying about $72 per month total for 200 minute/month voice contract at $29/month plus Phone as modem unlimited plan for $39/month. My A900 just minutes ago got these consecutive readings; 493, 481 and 500 Kbits per second. I can watch streaming 300 Kbit/second streaming video very well at this link:

But this is strictly a Sprint contract.
