The above 3 phones can do USB or Bluetooth EVDO connections with my MacBook Pro.

The first question is whether REV A phones are due soon.

The Treo 700p is the largest, heaviest and most expensive of the three. The Samsungs have gps e911 chips and the Treo does not. The treo has a full suite of palm goodies, calendar, address book, memo pad, etc and I have been using a 600 for two years.

Can anyone compare the 3 as PAM devices and determine a winner if any?

Other pros and cons welcomed.

I've owned the Treo 700p and the Samsung A900. I currently use the Samsung A900 for EVDO with my MacBook Pro. Speeds were the same between the two. I just like the smaller form factor. I also purchased a USB cable from eBay that will charge the phone simultaneously while using the EVDO service. It is also retracable, which is nice. For the Palm 700p, you should buy the USB Modem application that you can get on Handango or others.

Sprint Rev A phones are rumored to come in Oct or so. But that rumor comes from pcsintel.com, which is only right about 80% of time. They stated Sprint would carry the Razr by now - didn't happen.

Treo does have e911 GPS, there is even an option to turn it off.

A pro of Treo is that since it is a PDA, most anything can be developed for it, including hacks to get past needing the PAM plan. Smile

Second Question: if I have the broadband plan $59 on Sprint, can I change it to the PAM plan? I guess I could call Sprint, right? But then why have this list... Rolling Eyes

Friends (My first post here)

I don't know diddly about EVDO Rev A, but on 3-22-06 Christopher Price claimed that Sierra announced the "AirCArd 595, the first mobile broadband card to support EV-DO Release A. . ."

Didn't say when it would be coming out.

Stand by for the Sprint Rev A launch soon. It all depends on location when it comes to when the rollout will be applicable to you. In many markets, the announcement will be made October 1. Believe me, it'll be big news so if its available in your area, you'll know. And as today is the 27th.... its not too long to wait. Don't worry about citing 2ndary sites.... this info comes from within. I'll keep you all posted as soon as I know of any info, ok? Stay tuned!!!!
