|
|
I have set up my KR with a Merlin620 Sprint card serving two desktops (myself and brotherinlaw)via cat5 cable. So I cannot use the Sprint e-mail. I purchased Yahoo e-mail service for myself and was wondering how to intergrate it with IE so that I could seamlesley send photos ect. My old Earthlink account that was ISDN telephone line modem connection keeps popping up. What settings do I use?
Thanks in advance |

| I'm not really sure how Earthlink works, but if it was a high speed connection, try going to My Network Places and disable the connection for earthlink if you haven't already done so. Just a hunch. |

When you say your old Earthlink account keeps popping up, do you mean it keeps asking you to connect/work offline? If that's the case, you can change those settings within Internet Explorer so it doesn't try to dial a connection even when you're on high speed.
Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> "Never dial a connection"
Hope that helps solve the dial up part of it. _________________ Dell Inspiron 600m w/ Sprint Merlin S620 |

Yes that helps with that part but how or what settings do I replace so that the Sprint connection takes its place?
Thanks |

If you have already installed the software for your Sprint EVDO card, all you need to do is open the software, plug in your card, and push the GO button. That should be it.
Am I missing the question? Please let me know if I am. Maybe others can chime in with their insights as well. _________________ Dell Inspiron 600m w/ Sprint Merlin S620 |

| The included Sprint e-mail requires me going to their site. It is also not as user friendly. I would like to just hit e-mail from my browser and even better yet be able to right click on a photo and e-mail it . Another words full intergration. That is why I went to another e-mail account with Yahoo but it still did not cure the problem. I may just real dumb about something here I don't know. |

OH! Okay, I understand now. If you know how to setup email accounts in Outlook or Eudora or whatever program you use, here are the settings:
POP: pop.sprintpcs.com
SMTP: smtp.sprintpcs.com
Use your username@sprintpcs.com as the username and use your password to get access to your email. You have to setup outgoing mail to use authentication in order to send through the sprintpcs smtp server.
Hope this helps.
As far as attachment limits or inbox storage, I have no idea. I use sprintpcs mail through Outlook 2003, but don't receive much from it. I usually only send through that account. _________________ Dell Inspiron 600m w/ Sprint Merlin S620 |

| Thanks w6jjk. Are you able to right click on photos or do you have to import them into the sprint program first? |

I believe if your sprint email program is the default email program for emailing, you should just be able to right click and send image.
Hope that helps!
