580 sierra Aircard and 2 bars 1xr

I have 2 bars of signal with out the antenna for this. I just ordered the antenna and was wondering how many bar gains I should get.

Hello,

Looks like you ordered our Booster Antenna for the AirCard 580 (to arrive tomorrow).

The Sierra AirCard 580 is based on the oldest chipset and we see the most improvement with that card (and it's sister the PC5220). It isn't always about the number of bars, however, you should see 1-2 bar increase.

We prefer having you benchmark at http://www.dslreports.com/stest AND if you are in a weaker signal area with frequent drops, that should be improved too.

One word of warning, the AirCard 580 (and PC5220), have the smallest antenna connector. Make sure that you align your cable before pushing it in. It will "snap in", once you plug it in. If the cable is not aligned, you could break the cable adapter (easily replaced with another cable adapter) - just make sure it is aligned before pushing it in.
