Hi All...

I bought 2 units Novatel V 620 to Indonesia to access in Indonesian operator.
I have no clue how can this things register to the operator ( ESN, Programing).
Do you guys know is this unit can be used in Indonesia.
They have 3 operator in Indonesia in 800 and 1900 MHZ.
So guys if you have any information regarding this metter I will be glad to give a try for their EVDO.

Thanks

This will be up to the operator in Indonesia.

You need to contact them with the ESN numbers and see if they can activate it on their network. Of course, you will need an account with them.

As with all data devices, there are certain things that are hardcoded into the firmware of the card (I.E. HA Authenication, Some proxy settings, and the like) this is called the PRI. What they would have to do is Flash it with thier firmware and such applying thier carrier specific settings. Then register the ESN on thier network and such.

Hope this helps!

As with all data devices, there are certain things that are hardcoded into the firmware of the card. Its happend with Siera Aircard also. And by type (ctrl+d) I can go to the advanced setting which go to the NAM and programing setting. In this mode I can register the number of Chanell which operated in that specific operator, like 384, 466 etc.
I also can set the primary CDMA chanell and also the secondary.
Then I will contact the operator (network provider) to register card ESN to the HLR then they will open my acc to AAA to open the EVDO service.
For Novatel V620, I cant go to that mode so I can not do anything to setting all the parameter above.
If you guys have any information regarding this setting that you may ask to your network provider there in USA, please.

Alot of carriers disable the user from changing settings (of higher level stuff) on the care mainly so they don't screw it up.

Again.... this isn't as simple as "just changing a few numbers" there are certain things that are carrier specific. i.e. authentication settings, just you have to have specialized Product Support Tools (vendor to operator) to change.

Alot of carriers disable the user from changing settings (of higher level stuff) , yes My friend , you right.
And there's two sides setting that we have to set to make the Card work in the operator .
First , we have to go to NAM setting to put : MIN, MDN, Primary ChannelA, Primary Channel B, secondary Channel A,B( this for roam list channel),SID, Country Code, Etc.
After that We have to register the ESN from the card to the HLR for the MIN that we wrote to the card, also to the AAA to open the service for EVDO services .
For the second setting, just leave it to the operator, coz they will do that for us and for the first setting, to the PCMCIA card, WE have a problem to go to that setting.
FYI, if you use Nokia CDMA,by press the keypad *3001#12345# you shouls see the parameter for your comparison.

Again, if you have information how to go to NAM setting, please help.

Thanks
