Not sure if I like them now. I ordered the card last week. I recieved a bill today from Sprint. I was told I wasn't going to be billed until I activated the card! I told them I don't even have a laptop yet! I cancelled it and am sending back the card now until I get a laptop.

So apparently, once you buy the card, it's activated. No BS about needing to call them up or install in your computer to activate it. They do it automatically!

Monthly Service Charges: $65.80
Other Charges: $285.99
Other Credits and Adjustments: $186.00
Taxes, Surcharges & Fees: $6.95

Total $172.74

I DIDN'T EVEN USE IT!! LOL

Same thing happened with me, my account was activated, nullifying the need for me to follow their procedure to activate the card. However, since I already had my laptop and card, I just went with it. As for that first bill, call up their customer service and question those other charges. I had the rep explain to me what was covered in those other charges and discovered that I had been billed for an activation fee ($36) and a shipping fee for the cardbus ($12).

I complained to the rep that I had not been made aware of these charges when I first signed up for the account, and the rep immediately offered to credit 50% of the fees ($24). I told the rep that was unsatisfactory and that I wanted to speak with a supervisor. The rep came back after several minutes and advised me that all of the fees had been credited to my account. I strongly encourage any new EVDO customers to challenge any hidden or unmentioned fees tacked onto your account with either Sprint or Verizon, the sales staff just might have forgotten to mention these add-ons in their zeal to sign you up.

Yeap, sorry I didn't mention that. I called them up to cancel. Very easily done but I have to ship back the card before the 29th otherwise they won't credit or cancel my account.

Odd reasoning. You buy something and get charged for it and then think that is odd.

You must be fun at a gas station when you begin complaining about having to pay for the gas before you drive your car! Or at MacDonalds when you pay before you get the food!

Of course the above is tongue in cheek and done with a devilish sense of humor... Smile

Oh, perhaps you didn't notice that was an invoice or did they hit your credit card immediately?
