Here's how I understand the planned EVDO rollout...

Sprint has stated plans to cover nearly entire native (non-roaming) network (90%+) with EVDO by Q3 of next year and entire network by end of 2007 (if it can own all affiliates by then).

-If the maps are shown to have 'future' coverage in yellow, it should be completed by end of this year to maybe Q1 next year worst case.

-If any area still shows 1xRTT with no future EVDO coverage yet, it is likely controlled by an affiliate (Alamosa, iPCS, etc).

-If it is an affiliate Sprint purchased recently, which is most of them, it should have EVDO by Q3 2007 or possibly sooner.

-If it is an afflilate Sprint has not yet purchased, it is up to the affiliate to rollout EVDO. Sprint plans to acquire all remaining affiliates (4 I think), so should get EVDO eventually.

The largest one left to purchase is iPCS and that might be what is covering Green Bay. iPCS does cover most of rural Illinois if I recall. It might be Alamosa that covers Green Bay, which has already been acquired by Sprint - so EVDO by Q3 next year or sooner. Try googling for 'sprint affiliate' 'green bay'.

I googled for the remaining Sprint affiliates not yet acquired by Sprint...

-iPCS Inc.
-Shenandoah Telecommunications Co.
-Swiftel Communications
-Northern PCS

Thanks for answering xenophon. I posted this same question some time ago and got no response then, so I am glad to see there is a possibility this will still happen in a year. Later than I hoped...
