[ I waded around through search and couldn't find this answered directly... so I though I'd ask. Sorry if it has been answered. ]

Here's the deal: I had a PowerBook, and an EVDO PCCard w/service from Sprint. All as wonderful. Then I bought a MacBook Pro. I realize that the PC Express card versions of the EVDO cards are due soon, but also realize that Sprint will probably lag six months or so (grumble). And I've got many months on my 1-year agreement left.

SO, What I want is a EVDO capable phone that I tether with USB to the Mac that works with Sprint. I figure that I can just buy the phone and have them swap the registered device on the EVDO line.

Note: this isn't my voice line (I have a separate voice line), and I don't pay for voice service on it.... and I realize that they wouldn't originally sell me such a line with a phone, only the card... but I'm counting on the fact that they won't notice or care when I switch the device.

My work has a Motorola E815 on Verizion and EVDO via USB worked like a charm.... Which phone on Sprint will work?

It appears that all EVDO phones with Bluetooth work with Mac but you can only peak at about 300Kbps downloads.

The A900 phone (competes with Razr) can work with USB up to about 1Mbps, but apparently you need a 3rd party cable to charge and do data at same time...

The Treo 700p can do USB with a driver that can be found on the 700P/Mac thread. But the 700p does not appear to perform as well as other USB phones, seeming to only get to about 500Kbps (at least I haven't been able to get faster results in Windows).

Other EVOD phones might work with USB, try searching google.
