I am in the market to look for wireless internet so I can use my laptop wherever I want.
I know Sprint and Verizon uses the EVDO and I can get the service for $60 thru co. discount. Which company have faster download? I live in the Atlanta area.
Also, Cingular is in this market too and their wireless is only $50 per month and they dont use the EVDO technology. Are they good also? |

The only way to consider Cingular is if they are offering HSPDA there . Their EDGE service is slow. Otherwise keep your choice between Sprint and Verizon |

I went to Cingular website and they roll out HSPDA in Atlanta this past week and user has been getting 1 mb download. Maybe not many people are using it.
I dont know what to decide. |

We are in the process of becoming Cingular authorized. It still comes down to one question:
Who has the Coverage where YOU need it?
The answer to that question will help you decide. We expect Cingular to be a viable solution after they have a much larger roll out. We are thinking end of this year or 1st quarter 2007 (time will tell). However, as time goes on, so does the improved coverage of both Verizon and Sprint. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Good to hear Atlanta is up on Cingular HSDPA. Found this...

Central Florida might be next based on that board. Cingular has been slow with the HSDPA rollout. In January, they claimed they would hit 100 markets by end of this year, then said 'most' major markets. At the rate they are going, they may have less than a dozen new markets by end of the year. We'll see.
Also see this for comparisons... http://www.evdoforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1235
Look at the details of the maps to ensure which carriers have high speed coverage where you will be. |
