Looking for everything you every wanted to know about Mac EVDO?

We setup a page that explains it all, it is called:

Mac EVDO

I have a problem, my PC 5220 card was not being recognized when I inserted it into my PowerBook G4. No blinking power lights on the card, nothing, the card was not being recognized. The PC5220 works fine on my Windows laptop.

Here is how to fix (this may also apply to any other cards too):

Remove your PC EVDO Card from the PC Slot.

If you open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal

and execute the following commands. OK to copy and paste. Do one line at a time. You will need to enter your password after entering command #2. The last line will restart your PowerBook.

Quote:
rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

sudo kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

sudo shutdown -r now

After the PowerBook restarts, re-insert the card. If all is well, it will now be recognized.

BTW, there are the last 3 commands to execute for the modifications for the Novatel v620, KPC650, Sierra AirCard 580 that are documented here:
