Just for kicks I turned on the system in my KR-1. I immediately started getting great gobs of the following message:

As you can see the messages are arriving several every second!
Anybody have any clue what might be going on? The only problems I have with the router are the ones being reported by others - frequent reconnects and occassional "hangs" requiring powering off the unit.

Did a dumb. Didn't do my research. This issue has been discussed in several other threads. Guess I'll go get a KPC650.

Mike, The fellow has a PC5220 as he posted info elsewhere.
By the way, I bought a KR1 from you about 3 weeks ago. I am using it with the booster antenna. The aircard I am using is the PC5220 with the original 2.03 firmware, P8A revision. I am using this card as I have a Dell Inspirion 6000 and wanted a card I could update PRL's with and use in the laptop occasionally.
Anyway, I get the same log messages as this fellow and some others have reported. I get an occasional disconnect and have had to reboot the unit by unplugging, 4 times in 3 weeks... otherwise all seems to be working just fine. I traveled last week with the KR1 running in my RV and the KRI did just fine as it transitioned from National to EVDO as I passed from NY to Florida. I have just ignored the log report ..... Laptops connect either by cable or wifi (with good range) no problem. |

Folks really need to start reading other threads before posting new ones.
As stated in other threads, the PC5220 has never been on the supported card list. It loads in KR1 because it has the same driver code base as the Sierra A580. Also as stated in other threads, the PC5220 has a desense/RF leak issue that causes problems for the radio in KR1. When Verizon sold this card they had a lot of problems with it as well, which is why they switched to cards like the KPC650 and V620. |
