The VZAccess manager is not really a good text messaging system, I mean, it works, but thats about all you can say abou it.

Does anyone know of any 3rd party applications?

Which EVDO PC Card do you have?

I have a Sierra AirCard 580 on loan from Sierra (these guys are great) for testing and the SMS is awesome in it. The SMS integrates with Outlook, the Aircard Watcher 580 program is used instead of VZAccess. There is an address book, it is easy to reply. You get your SMS messages while connected or not connected. It is very cool. I didn't think I had a need for SMS on my EVDO card, until I started playing with it.

I will post more pictures from it later.

I am not aware of product other than VZAccess for Windows that works with Novatel v620. NovatelWireless does not offer an application for the Novatel v620, only Verizon does via VZAccess.

It does look cool. I have sent an email to NovatelWireless to find out how it can be downloaded or purchased.

http://www.novatelwireless.com/products/mobilink/

Further digging:

MobiLink Communication Software are designed to operate on a majority of global wireless networks and provide mobile subscribers with secure and convenient access to data...

It may be that the carrier picks the software and end users do not get a choice. I hope that is not it.

If Novatel Wireless was like Sierra, you could use the VZAccess software that comes with your card OR download their software directly (MCM or AirCard 580 Watcher), and use which ever one you want.[/img]
