FYI...
If you are using (or going to use), Mac OS X / Tiger with a EVDO Phone, read this first before upgrading:

I contacted SmithMicro about my problem connecting my LG4500 phone with their QuickLink Micro software. They are aware of the problem and say its a change in the USB drivers that Tiger uses. Here's the reply I received from SmithMicro:
Thank you for contacting Smith Micro technical support. If you look at your USB cable, is there a large rectangular box in the middle of the cable? If there is, your USB cable is a prolific cable. I am sure that under Panther or Jaguar, this was all working correctly, right?
When you upgraded to Tiger, Apple changed their USB driver settings around so that the prolific driver no longer works. We are currently aware of this problem and are working hard to restore the prolific driver so that it is compatible with Tiger. In the mean time, our only advice is to wait for an updated driver from us.
So, I'll wait for the update before loading Tiger into my Powerbook because it's real critical that I'm able to use my cell phone for photo transmissions. |
