I know one is based on the Palm OS and one is base on MS Mobile 5.0.
But, I expect there will be many people comparing these two units side by side.
Verizon and Sprint will be carrying the Treo 700p
Verizon will be carrying the Motorola Q.
For anyone considering these two units, what is important to you? Battery life? Tethering?

Both should be great smartphones that cater to different crowds. Downer for the Q is 240x320 with no touchscreen - 700p has 320x320 touchscreen. There are many WM5 apps that may not run on Q that use touchscreen input. PalmOS is losing steam as it has no OS roadmap future but it's still simple and to-the-point. I'm told by a Palm rep that there will be more PalmOS devices for up to 2 more years. I prefer the simplicity of PalmOS but it will be interesting to see if the Q version of WM5 is a little more straightforward to use than other WM5 phones. Q looks cool me thinks. 700p is a 3rd+ Treo iteration so might have an edge in getting kinks worked out.
Word is, Sprint first with 700p then Verizon sometime later. Verizon first with Q then Sprint sometime later. |
