Hi all,
Similar to Railgun's post , I am looking for a window mount antenna for my car. I am currently using Sprint's card (Novatel Wireless Merlin S620). Does anybody have any suggestions on which window mount antenna works best?
I am a ham radio operator and have spent over 200 dollars on a tri-band antenna plus trunk lip mount and cables. I hope that I won't have to spend that much money on a window mount antenna.
BTW, (hopefully I can hit two birds with one stone for this topic) have any of the users out there who have Sprint experienced full reception readings in the Sprint PCS Connection Manager? I know there are places where there isn't much reception, but my card seems to show full reception everywhere I go. I'm thinking maybe the software just shows full reception bars all the time?
So to recap,
1. Recommendations for a window mount antenna?
2. Anybody experiencing full bar reception in possibly low reception areas using the Sprint PCS Connection Manager?
Thanks so much!

WE have several . One that goes over your side window and two ( 3 db and 5 db) that mount on the glass . The problem with Glass mounts is the RF loss when passing through glass especially with tinted windows . I prefer our over the side window model for that reason . All that being said everybody's Glass mount antennas are basically equal |

Thanks for your reply.
I will be mounting the window mount on the front passenger side windshield and routing the cabling down the passenger's side.
At my work place, we've been dealing with Talley Communications for their user-specific antennas and was considering purchasing their Tri-Band Glass Mount (dual band for EVDO service and single band for GPS) for about $70 but their delivery is approximately 3 weeks ARO.
The side mount looks interesting, but I would like to make the antenna look as flush to the car as possible.
What are your shipping times to zip code 92507? _________________ Dell Inspiron 600m w/ Sprint Merlin S620 |
