With the current revisoin of EVDO (Revision 0), this is not possible. However, when EVDO Revision A is released (some majoy markets the end of this year, networkwide in 2007), you will be able to do simultaneous data and voice sessions. If you are in a major market (NYC, L.A., etc) you may be getting lucky by the end of the year. Sprint has the greatest plans for EVDO Revision A deployment, I have not hear much from Verizon.

It is not possible with EVDO Rev 0 or EVDO Rev A.

EVDO Rev A brings faster upload & lower latency and QOS, which enables VOIP.

Verizon beat Sprint to first deploying EVDO by 2 years. Sprint is trying to beat Verizon to the market with EVDO Rev A. Sprint pre-announced plans this past April 2006, however, the real winner will be determined by actions and not pre-announcements. Just because you don't hear anything, doesn't mean that it is not inevitable. Both will have EVDO Rev A, time will tell who is actually first.

Really? I did not know that voice was not possible simultaneously with data on Rev. A. Many people are under the impression that EVDO Rev. A will support both. Good to know! And yes, I agree with you 100% on the who releases it first. Thanks for the info. Michael!
