I have an early version, but I assume this will work elsewhere. You need a hardware USB serial adapter. Short pins 2 and 3 (Tx and Rx). Run Route 66 or other mapping program. Set it to as high a baud rate as possible. In a terminal window, connect to the network but divert the output to /dev/usbserial0, or whichever the actual hardware serial port is. I use socat, but telnet should work too. You can even do things like "cat gps.log >/dev/usbserial0" and watch it track.
