|
|
| I picked up a second evdo card off ebay so that I could have one with me and my wife could also have one with her. That way we wouldn't have to keep swapping back and forth all the time. But, the card will not work. Oh well. The message that I get is "Access was denied because the username and/or password was invalid on the domain." Am i going to have to put this back on Ebay to get rid or it or is there a solution through Verizon? |

Each EVDO PC Card has a unique S/N (called ESN), it is on the label on the back of the card. Your Verizon account is tied to a single ESN. This is why the 2nd card is not working, it is not tied to an active Verizon account. You could call Verizon and have them switch service to the 2nd card, but then the first card will not work.
Also, WATCH OUT, there are people on eBay selling cards that are defective, read about PC 5220 P8A Revision. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Do an About in your VZAccess or MCM or menu bar (depending on the software and OS you are using).
It may be a P7 revision, which is very old. Some of these older cards cannot reliably do a PRL update.
There is one guy on ebay unloading tons of P7 cards. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I figured that the card was so new that I didn't worry about the Version. It is a Verizon VZA Access Manager. I do have the software installed that was provided when I signed up with Verizon. I don't know if the about will check the software information or the PCMCIA Card information. In any event, this may be the same guy. He had a few for sale without any software with the card whatsoever.
BTW, I am very happy with the EVDO. I am trying to get away from land lines as much as possible. Tired of being tied to multiple land lines and the expense of duplication Thanks again for your assistance. Wish I had checked this site before I purchased. |
