|
|
This thread will be used to discuss the Lenovo ThinkPad X60s with EVDO and specific issues related to this laptop and how it works with EVDO. Other forums can be used to discuss coverage, service, etc.
For someone that has this, I am most interested to know how well it receives signal compared to a PC Card, AND if there are any external ports for EVDO antennas or signal amplifiers (I am guessing there is not).
If you just got one of these laptops, we can quickly activate your Embedded Verizon EVDO card for you. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| I have an X60 with the EVDO, and I have Sprint service. Is there any way I can configure my laptop to hook up to the Sprint EVDO network??? Is there a different software manager I can get??? |

I popped the case of a Novatell U720 and installed the PCI Express Mini card,
Got this:
| Quote: | Error
1804: Unauthorized WAN card is plugged in - Power off and remove the WAN card. |
Gotta find a way around the BIOS I guess... |

coreyinoz, I ran across that group while continuing my search after this post.
I'm pretty uncomfortable running a customized BIOS on a machine I can't afford to have get "bricked" - especially since it appears there's no way of recovering with a bootable "re-flash" utility.
I've pulled it back out for now until I can find a more acceptable solution... At least I'm getting good at disassembly/reassembly of the unit.
The quest goes on! |
