My laptop came with

Integrated Wireless Wide Area Network (WAN)132 accessing Cingular Wireless National EDGE Network with SmartWi technology

Laptop has a PCMCI slot.

Have yet signed up for the service evdo.


Why would I use Verizon over Cingular or Cingular over Verizon?

Do not care if I spend the extract money for an air card.

Both vendors seem to be priced the same.

I care about speed

Which vendor has better equipment and faster web browsing for a notebook?

I am in Central NJ and NYC.

EDGE will give you realistic speeds of 80Kbps - 120Kbps

EVDO will give you realistic speeds of 400Kbps - 700Kbps.

From a speed point of view, EVDO wins hands down.
