I have read that when using the Kyocera 650 in a laptop there are settings that can be changed to improve bandwidth. I think they may have had to do with MTU's or somthing and Kyocera provides that software for improved performance on the laptop but as I understand, that only works when the EVDO card is installed directly in the laptop.

I am now using my 650 in a KR1 and wondering what if anything can be done within Windows XP to improve my EVDO performance. I assume that there are no changes within the KR1 to optimize the connection but any help would be appreciated. My performance in not bad. The last test I did showed 560K down and 124k upload speeds at home but since this is installed in a motorhome, I will likely be using it more in fringe areas where I may not get the broadband reception.

I have a wilson external trucker style antenna with an amplifier hooked directly into the 650 EVDO card so my reception should be good where we go camping, but I have yet to see that.

Thanks in advance..

Scott
