Hello,

The manual process documented at EVDOinfo.com does work. I know that it can be a bit overwhelming for those who have never used the command line, terminal, pico, etc.

So, I am offer my services to help those do the manual process.

In order for me to be able to log into your PowerBook and make the changes, your PowerBook must be accessible over the internet with a real IP, vs. private IP. If your IP Address starts with 192.168. or 10.0.xx, you have a private IP and I cannot get into your computer from the outside.

PowerBook must:

- have a real IP Address and not be behind a firewall.

- under Preferences -> Sharing -> Remote Login must be enabled

- I need your account name and password (OK to change your password and then revert when I am done).

- I need to know which PC Card you have ( Novatel v620, Sierra AirCard 580, Kyocera KPC 650)

- Your PC Card cannot be in the PC slot while I am performing the remote manual process.

- When done, I will restart your PowerBook (remotely). After the restart, you can insert your PC Card into the slot and it should be recognized.

To see if you have a "real IP, go to :

http://www.myipaddress.com/

and see if the IP address that is reported there matches what is in your Network settings. If you are behind a firewall, I CANNOT log into your PowerBook - and will not be able to help you remotely.

I will offer to do a few of these each day (for free). I may pull this offer at any time. If I get over loaded with requests, I still may only do a few a day, so it may take a bit. The only thing I ask in return, is one of the following:

- help spread the word about EVDOinfo.com & EVDOforums.com
- in turn, help someone else in need, by answering a question on these forums
- make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation

If you purchased an antenna from http://Booster-Antenna.com, I will move you to the top of the list and do yours the same day.[/list]

You can email me directly at mike at evdoinfo dot com, use a subject of "Need PowerBook Command Line Help"

This free offer for all is officially closed. Our time does not allow us to continue to do this for free (sorry).

If someone purchases an EVDO data card from Booster-Antenna.com, we will still offer this service for free. If you purchased your data card from somewhere else, we now have EVDO paid technical support.

Sorry, that we had to pull this free offer, we just were spending too much time helping people that got their data cards from Verizon stores, Verizon direct or other online dealers.

If you are a Mac User who is thinking about getting an EVDO (BroadbandAccess) Card, or has bought one in the last 2 week, PLEASE read this page:
